The aim of this module is to generate professional conversations about how teachers enact the curriculum. The focus therefore is on teachers as curriculum makers – in their own words.
Intended outcomes
This module uses ‘home-made’ video case studies. The case studies generate reflection and discussion that help to clarify:
- planning the curriculum in teacher teams
- curriculum making by individual teachers
- the distributed nature of curriculum leadership
Possible outputs
Participants could be encouraged to make their own video case studies, using the format and structure used in this module.
Making and sharing video case studies can illustrate aspects of curriculum making, especially working in teams to plan the curriculum and how this relates to individual curriculum making. These can be used for critical reflection, team building and professional development. Critical reflection enables rich, collaborative, professional conversations to take place.
